The little Emerald Baby Yoda Sweater is completed and it is making it’s way to the owner, slowly but truly. It was a very easy knit but I have to admit, I am not keen on the neckline it’s not tidy enough for my liking when worn but it is that particular detail that makes the Yoda-bit, so if I want a tidier neckline, it’s not a Yoda Sweater I am to knit. I did a bit of modification of the neckline to make this palatable to me. I think we knitters have a tendency to blame the pattern when something goes wrong, when in reallity, it is our own bad choice of yarn and pattern that is the problem…
The Baby Yoda Sweater pattern is really quick and easy to knit and if one is keen on a quick turnover in the knitting department, this is an excellent little project.
I knitted the sweater in pure cotton and I can’t say I am mad on knitting in cotton, I don’t like the lack of elasticity and if I was to knit this little sweater again in cotton I would choose to knit some sort of moss stitch to introduce some elasticity. I would most certainly only choose to knit such a small garment in so many colours in the round as there was way too many ends to weave in during the finish. However, wanting to knit in the round leaves out the cardigan option, which I do find preferable for little people what with avoiding the business of garment-over-head…
Now I just wonder if I am really a baby knitter? I find it too stressful that there are no long meandering rows where the thought processes can really get good and juicy. However, there are another few little people on the way into my world and I guess there will be more cardigans to knit to ponder that particular question…
