I must confess that I have told the tiniest, weeniest small little lie on this blog. It really is not a very substanctial lie, actually, it could probably be classified as an un-truth more so than a lie, and we all agree that that is not nearly as bad, right?
The truth is, I did actually have one tiny ball of the absolutely smallest kind left of the green Kauni Effektgarn. I do think I have made it perfectly clear that I am the frugal type of a knitter so I obviously kept this sweet little remnant in the bag with the ball of rainbow coloured kauni yarn that I made the The Rainbow Scarf from.
I had that acid green ball of wool on my mind, my frugal self could not live with the fact that this little ball might end up in the great mess at the bottom of the wool basket, never to be seen again. This morning the idea of making a beret entered my head and using this remnant would be a great bonus.

This being a rest day, of sorts, I cast on the minute the thought entered my head. I had thought up this beret with a contrast colour lining the inside of the headband, in Kauni of course. I really love that yarn. The play of the colour, for one, is intriguing, but also the texture and rough feel of it, to me it’s real wool, particularly the scent of lanolin that tickles my nostrils as the friction of my hands warm up the needles and the wool.
Now I just wonder if I can be forgiven for this very, very small un-truth that I have told.

All is forgiven! I absolutely love the colours.
PEWH! I am delighted to be pardoned!!!
(I love the colours too, ’tis great gas!)
