I have suffered serious wool withdrawal symptoms for the last 10 days. Not one piece of knitting or other craft have I held in my hands for the duration. It impacts seriously on my entire being when I cannot express myself through some sort of other means than the keyboard. For 10 days I have been at the computer writing report after report after report about incorrect use of style guides and what have you, and the only style I really care about is that what is on the needles.
Tonight, at long last, I managed to get to the tune of two hours unbroken knitting done. I sat very still, with my feet in water preparing them for seriously red toenails and sandal living for the next many months. I sat with the telly on watching some ghastly Hollywood movie which I cannot even remember what was about now, and I grabbed the goat. And how that goat is just yummie, it runs between my fingers so gentle and easy and soft and fine and on top of that a whole new aspect of it revealed itself for me tonight. You see, when knitting in the cold, the cashmere is warm and when knitting in the warmth of a balmy evening, the yarn is cool. What exquisite luxury!
I just wonder how long it will take me to knit through my 500 meters of yarn which takes a very long time in the finest of fine lace weight on needles size 2.5 mm and at the rate of two hours knitting per 10 days…
